Organisational Development Training

Pilot Organizational Development Program
Integrating Ireland's Organisational Development and Capacity Building Programme aims to strengthen and empower minority ethnic-led organisations through support and training on organisational development. Emphasis is placed on skill-building, group development and the provision of support to initiate, develop and effectively manage participants own organisations. Tailored information, advice, group facilitation, support and/or training is also provided.

The first pilot program was delivered in Carlow to members of the South East region, at which training on establishing organisations was offered. Modules included developing organisational aims and objectives, membership participation, strategic planning, project and funding, proposals, etc. The training was followed up by support for participating groups by the organisations Networking staff team.

It was envisioned that organisations would use this support and apply new skills towards the development of their own strategic plans. The program was piloted again in Galway for the Western Alliance members in January 2008.

In 2009 Integrating Ireland was awarded funds through the WHEEL training links fund to deliver this organisational training in all of its five regions in 2009 and 2010.
